Riding to Fisherman’s Beach in Swampscott, Mass. on our bicycles was a weekly routine in the summer. We were 16 years old.
Myself, Patricia, one of her friends who was new to us and one other gal.
The new gal was riding a boy’s bike and the handlebar jammed into her thigh as she fell off her bike.
Blood gushing out of her leg. The 2 others that were with us took off. I was left alone to help her out.
I ran from door to door to seek help and finally someone was home and they called an ambulance for me.
I rode in the ambulance with this gal I didn’t even know. This was an act of love.
