Here are some of mine, in no particular order:
Someone made a documentary about the “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling” and it was so fantastic it actually made me cry a little.
Scandal managed the nigh-impossible trick of jumping the shark every 10 minutes.
The palpable excitement of my Twitter timeline as Senator Wendy Davis stood her ground for the rights of Texas women.
HAIM’s “Days Are Gone”–my pick for the best album of the year. (With Daft Punk and David Bowie’s 2013 efforts coming in for the silver and bronze medals.)
Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball”–my pick for best song of the year. (With Lorde’s “Royals” coming in for a near tie.)
These “Super Best Friends Forever” statues:
All of the amazing titles released by Criterion and Shout Factory! this year. They both took a lot of my money.
I tweeted a joke about “The Rainbow Connection” and Paul Williams retweeted and responded to it, so we’re totally best friends now.
Joanna asked me to ask a bunch of stupid question on the Good Men Project.
I bought a suit.
I made a bunch of new friends.
My favourite book of the year was The Disaster Artist, a fascinating look at the making of The Room–one of the most brilliant bad movies of all time.
But most importantly, 2013 was the year I FINALLY was able to bring home an official copy of Ninja III: The Domination!
And that’s just scratching the surface, because 2013 was one of the best years ever me-wise. Even if your’s wasn’t quite as awesome, it had to have SOME good stuff in it. Spill!
