The Good Men Project

Batman and the Outsiders

Leave it to the Omni-brooding Batman to put together a team of misfits, miscreants, and Katana, a badass with her very special sword.

“This is how Batman spends his time away from the Justice League?” You’re probably wondering.

Yes. Yes, it is. He works with the second wave of superheroes who will answer the call one day, as long as they survive.

There’s Black Lightning, who is pretty much what you would expect just by the name. He’s an African American hero who wears a black suit and shoots lightning. Pretty self-explanatory, right?

Next up are Signal and Orphan, two heroes without much in the way of backstories. Yet. Hopefully soon.

So, there you have the Outsiders, Black Lightning, Signal, Orphan and Katana fighting alongside the Batman himself.

I prefer the shorter Batman series, such as the recent Batman and the Kings of Fear, because they’re usually six issues long and you get a nice story, take a couple months off and then there’s usually another series coming out.

If you’re looking to try Batman, this is a good place to start. It’s the first issue of another short storyline and the writing in the first issue is as amazing as you would expect for one of DC’s Big 4 characters, Aquaman, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

Get down to your local comic book shop to grab the last copy of Batman and the Outsiders before someone else does!
