PBS Inventors: The Practicello

Cello players who travel usually have to buy an extra airplane seat for their instrument if they want to do any practicing while they’re away. To get around that, Ernest Nussbaum has invented a collapsible cello that fits in the overhead bin. It lacks the full body of a proper cello, so it’s not very loud, but that’s a feature, not a bug, since it means you could practice in a hotel room without disturbing your neighbors.
