The Good Men Project

Who Speaks For The Working Man (and Woman)?

You board a trolley in the morning, headed to work, like every other morning. Maybe you’re tired and feeling hopeless, maybe you’re having a great day. Either way, you probably don’t feel all that represented in the world. Congress is full of rich white fatcats, the media shows only two spectrums: the wealthy and the privileged or the very, very poor (whom we’re told to pity).

But what about the rest? The everyday men and women who work hard, but who aren’t looking for a handout or for help. What about the people who are building this country, who build our homes and businesses, who make our food and our clothes, who are our friends, neighbors, family… us?

That’s who this song is for—the song by Aaron Evans, featuring Generik—that they sung on a trolley in San Diego, that brought the passengers to uproarious applause.

“We all work, we all struggle, we all bend our backwards trying not to burst the bubble …We all trip, we all stumble, we all have to rebuild from the ashes and rubble”
