A Princess of a Man – Is There an “Uncle of the Year Award?”

Jesse NagyShe wasn’t sure that wearing a princesses dress to the movies was OK, until her Uncle Jesse offered to dress up as a princess too.

Actors dress up all the time, but this actor wasn’t playing a part, he was stepping up in the role of Uncle Extraordinaire! (And he makes a wonderful princess, tattoos and all!)

The photo went viral before the man in the sparkly dress was identified. He turned out to be Jesse Frank Nagy, an actor and doting uncle to a shy four-year-old niece who wasn’t feeling confident about wearing her princess dress to the movie theater.

What a way to model confidence! When little Izzy suggested they could both be princesses he did what any confident man would do — he borrowed a friend’s prom dress and took his “mini-me” to the movies. And, like any confident man, he posted pictures to Facebook, never guessing that his friends would cheer his sense of fashion and family by sharing the photo on Reddit and other social media sites.

We think guys should go to the movies wearing anything they want, but we especially think guys who decide to wear dresses, or dress swords, or anything the little people who look up to them want them to wear, deserve a standing ovation. We’re cheering your sense of fashion and family too, Princess Jesse. And we think Princess Izzy is a lucky girl to have you as both an uncle and a role model.

We now have our winners for Dad of the Year and Uncle of the Year. Who’s going to step up for Grandfather of the Year?

h/t to GMP contributors Rena Delevie and Doug Wagner for sharing this story with us.
