What’s a guy to do when it’s 26 degrees, windy, and snowing in Buffalo, NY? Grab a friend and go surfing, of course!
You don’t need blue skies or the sun to enjoy a day of surfing Lake Erie. You just need a friend, a couple of dry suits, your boards, a camera, and quite possibly a lapse in good judgement.
This video is almost surreal. The shore is covered in snow. There is snow blowing across the boards and the camera. The surf is up and the water is choppy. There’s no question that it’s cold. Really cold. According to the weather report, it may be even colder than he says.
About now, you’re probably asking, “Why? Why would someone do this?”
The dude (Kevin Cullen, who posted this), gives no explanation. He doesn’t say anything beyond introducing himself, giving the temps, and telling us that he’s about to go to the waves.
So the answer to the question, “What happens when man defies nature?”
In this case, he surfs.
