Mr. Noir argues, “This isn’t a black or white, Democrat or Republican issue. This is common sense, this is self-preservation.”

Mr. Colion Noir, an attorney from Texas, is a self-proclaimed “Gun Enthusiast” who addresses issues ranging from gun control, politics, and reviews of firearms and firearm accessories on his personal YouTube channel. He describes himself on his Google+ page by saying, “Firearms Aficionado, Concealed Carrier, Gun Reviewer, Budding Attorney, Youtuber, Gun Blogger, but most people call me Mr. Colion Noir,” and with 173 YouTube video uploads, and almost 80,000 subscribers, his pro-gun message is spreading.
In this video, Mr. Noir makes a compelling argument as to why black community and political leaders should not be anti-gun control. He says,
Considering the history the black community has had with this country, and it’s government, you think that it’s a good idea to argue against the second amendment? You want us to wholly depend on the government for our safety, this same government who at one point hosed us down with water, attacked us with dogs … and told us we couldn’t own guns when bumbling fools with sheets on their heads were riding around, burning crosses in our yards, and murdering us. This makes sense to you? In my mind a guy telling me to get rid of my guns, when I need them the most, isn’t my friend, isn’t looking out for my best interest, and doesn’t speak for me or the community that I’m part of … It’s not a gun problem, it’s not even a violence problem. It’s a culture problem. It’s a poverty problem. It’s a history problem.
Whether you agree with Mr. Noir or not, whether you are pro-gun control or pro-gun, his arguments are worth listening to. We have often said we don’t have an agenda on The Good Men Project, but rather want to have a diversity of voices speaking about the issues that most affect men. This is one of those voices.
