Jose Ramon didn’t have an ideal childhood. Among other things, he was kicked out of the house as a child for not being masculine enough and, on more than on occasion, was solicited for sex as a minor. To deal with his traumatic childhood, Jose created “Joe” – an alter ego that let him start over with a clean slate. While he enjoyed many successes as “Joe”, he ultimately returned to “Jose” after the death of his mother, and eventually found himself in “a good place.”
