Get out and into your animal nature
When we stay home, there is always a distraction.
To make Valentine’s day special go somewhere else.
Take your true love along.
You don’t have to go the same day as the holiday, just hand craft a certificate and tuck it upon a pillow.
There are places to go on less crowded days. There are places to go where natural beauty surrounds. Walk a distance from the parking lot to open up your senses and sensuous self.
Tell someone it is he/she alone you wanted to share this experience with, to make it truly meaningful. Say it with real intent. Make eye contact. Touch.
Nothing shows you care more than wanting to feel care, not just about another person, but about a place. About feeling, protecting, and defending what should be natural to all of us.
Find the place in your heart
There are wondrous things left in the world. Surround yourself by surging shores, singing birds, tremendous trees, or spot the rarest of rare, a magnificent animal. (Any wildlife spotting is becoming precious these days.) Human beings need to be reminded that we have a very animal attraction for animals and for each other. This is good way to indulge it.
Don’t even worry about taking cell phones or a camera. Stop, inhale, breathe and savor the uninterrupted moments. Being present is the best gift of all. It’s something all of us can do for at least 24 hours.
Every time you feel an urge to check your phone, tablet, or social media, use that opportunity to say something connecting to another human being.
Unlike everything you had to deal with, say, last Tuesday on your feed, you can create moments that are memorable.
You both may just remember it forever.
