Knowing who we share our energies with, to a greater or lesser degree, is possibly one of the greatest difficulties we will have throughout our entire life. Unfortunately, we often waste precious time worrying about things and dispensable people, who add nothing new, quite the contrary.
How many times do we not get upset with some kind of malicious comment that someone makes, as if that person’s opinion could change anything in our life, as if everyone would agree with their thinking? We need to be certain that whoever truly knows us and loves us with truth will know who we are and will never believe anything they say about us.
Other times, we let an unpleasant fact end our good humor, making our day heavy and practically lost, making us forget how much we are graced daily, how much we have already managed to advance on our journey. Valuing our health, our work, our true companions should be a daily exercise, or we will become ungrateful and unpleasant people.
Not infrequently, we are forced to coexist in environments where there are people emanating negative energy, spreading aggressiveness with a heavy countenance. In no way can we allow ourselves to be contaminated by this type of negativity, by problems that do not concern us, nor do we have to try hard. It will be difficult to maintain a smile next to yelling and scowling faces, but this will guarantee our survival.
In the same way, we tend to lament excessively certain losses we face on our way, as if we could not live without what we clung to so much or that we wanted so much to obtain. However, to rebalance ourselves, we will need a lot of reflection, to realize that much of what is gone was not really ours and that there is still a lot of good waiting for us every day.
One thing is certain: if we place too much importance on goods that do not fill our essence and on people who do not bring us special moments, we are destined to smile little and lament a lot. We cannot accept a life that drags on to the bitter taste of others’ misfortunes, letting the weight of what displeases us be greater than the lightness of the happy moments we have with those who give and receive love intensely. This is what should move us, and this is what life is made of, beautiful and worth living.
