The number one thing that’s working here is the people — the readers, the writers, the commentors, the staff — all of you are what make this thing matter.

Ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, we cast the widest net we can, so we can learn from each other.

Both a responsive site and an app are on the way.

Thank you, Ken.
Exciting time. I’m sure we can all feel it.
I’ll try this again. Hopeful article, and a good start, but as men move forward we seem to be very focused on only one aspect of change while shying away from others. Certainly we all have to look at the changes in society, the role of men, and look toward a newer, brighter future. That is not all though. We’ve already been here in the 90s (the Iron John era), but we failed to do then what we may or may not fail to do today…which is, of course, the encompassing of all aspects of growth for men. That comes… Read more »
Thank you for your heartfelt comments, DJ. Yes, we’ve made a start, and yes we’ve made some progress, but there is so much work to do. We need passionate people who care, who are articulate, and who understand this is more process than solution – people like you who happen upon our community and join it in word, deed, and spirit. We’re glad you found us, and delighted you’re here.
You’ve mentioned women a few times, so lets go there. I’m rather new to the site, but not men’s issues. I started back in the 80s with both advocating for girls in sports and father’s rights (at a time when we were being told that men have no business raising children). I ran one of the first men’s message boards on AOL, and have involved myself in a myriad of men’s rights issues…including breaking ground for many of the discussion we are having today. It was not at all fun back then, but we’ve come a long way. One indicator… Read more »
One aspect of the brand/name “Good Men Project” that I love is the Project– it’s an active process that takes thought and effort.
You have that exactly right, Tiffany. We are forever a work in progress. Our Project is never meant to be a static publication. Adding your voice truly matters.
Ya’ll make me crazy BUT I”ill give ya credit for the following * You do provide a nice balance of articles for “singles'” * You provide good human interest articles * Your articles that relate to “kids” issues, needs and interests and parenting are insightful * You cover social issues fairly well * From my perspective, you’re fair when it comes to allowing responses through For those of you who know me, I have issues with some of the articles but I keep coming back, right? So there must be something that attracts me to the site … been coming… Read more »
Thanks for sticking with us, Tom. Keep helping us grow and get better. This conversation needs all voices to resonate.
One heck of a year to be sure, Ken. What I like most about the Good Men Project is that we have tens of thousands of articles on every aspect of manhood, each with dozens or even hundreds of comments. This is a massive archive of wide ranging, ground breaking ideas about what it is to be a man. Five years ago, other sites may have owned this space. Now we do. I love that, because unlike other sites who may comment on men and masculinity, we represent the full spectrum of ideas and ideologies. All voices are here. We… Read more »
Mark, you’ve been with us the whole way and we know you’re here to stay. Your words opens people’s minds. Our community is the fuel for our fire and you’re a leader in our community!
I thoroughly enjoy being a contributor here. Good men project is my first major platform and I am grateful to be part of what we do here.
Matt, we are grateful you are part of our mission and deeply appreciative of all you contribute! Keep it coming and grow with us!
Ken, I happened to begin reading your Good Men Project writers’ articles from Twitter since the beginning and have weekly re-tweeted my favorites along with posting them on LinkedIn and sending many to colleagues and friends. I love anything science and medicine related for work so your articles bring a refreshing mix into my daily and weekly reading. Thanks to your vision and to the wonderful writing of your staff, I have cried, and laughed and learned things about men that have made me a more understanding women. As a Health Care Ethicist, I especially was thrilled to see that… Read more »
Dawn Ann, you leave me without appropriate words to respond, a rare occurrence! As long as you keep reading, sharing, and commenting, our writers will be heartened and keep baring their souls. Stay with us, grow with us, and if you ever want to write for us, let us know. That door is open to our community, just like our hearts!
Thanks Ken,
I’m so happy for all the success The Good Men Project is having, and excited to hear about the long overdue website design, optimized for mobile!
Am hoping to contribute more, and here’s to an even better year ahead!
We are delighted you will be contributing more, Aaron. We hope the new mobile templates will make it easier for everyone to stay close to us.
Thank you for steering GMP…! I love that Lisa Hickey is on the West Coast and biking and still leading GMP…! The site has come a long way since the wordy fight-fests in the comments that characterized early GMP…..things have upgraded in civility and I can see moderation of comments has improved vastly!!! I admire the wider range of writers and contributors to the site….more empathy and compassion to men and women alike….!
Thanks, Leia. No such thing as too much empathy and compassion. We appreciate that you are with us and helping us evolve. Stay tuned for even more evolution. Kindness and learning are solid paths to engagement.
