Merrill Cole is the author of The Other Orpheus: A Poetics of Modern Homosexuality (2003). The recipient of a Fulbright Research Award], he is the translator from the German of the 1923 Dances of Vice, Horror, and Ecstasy (2012). His creative work has most recently appeared in Bellevue Literary Review, Women's Studies Quarterly, and Mayday Magazine. He teaches literature, creative writing, and queer studies at Western Illinois University.
