Yes, We Can Talk About Sex. Gently, Compassionately, and In Ways We Are Both Comfortable.
For all the openness about it, there are still so many people who don't want to talk about it. They'd be happier if it all happened in the dark, under the covers with their eyes closed.
For all the openness about it there are still so many people who don’t want to talk about it.
They be happier if it all happened in the dark, under the covers with their eyes closed.
They don’t want to talk to their children about it.
They don’t want to talk to each other.
They don’t want to talk about their…, or yours…
They don’t want to educate people.
And they certainly don’t want to talk about the possibilities.
And when there’s a problem, of which there are many, they most definitely are not willing to talk about it, let alone do anything about it.
Even if it means that you leave, even if it means that you look for it elsewhere, even if it means I shut that part of me down.
And they are definitely not willing to let go of any judgement about it, in fact they’re holding onto the judgement with all they have. For this is clearly the path to eternal darkness. And more than that, if you try and tell them that this could actually be something spiritual, something that could connect you to something or someone ‘up there’, well, get ready for some harsh words and maybe even more.
These people are quite happy to condemn the results of not talking about it. But they still won’t talk about it.
Well, we’ll talk about it.
We’ll talk about it gently, openly, graphically, in any way we can.
We’ll find the words that you are comfortable with.
We’ll find a path that fits with what you believe.
For there are many roads on this journey, many ways to the top of the mountain.
Let’s paraphrase what one of the enlightened ones said, ‘There are many paths to my Father’s, or Mother’s House.’
And as we talk about it, as we become more comfortable with ourselves and others, with ours, and yours and theirs, we become lighter.
We let go of inhibitions and fears and guilt and shame and embarrassment.
We become more accepting of ourselves and of each other.
We find it easier to talk about other things as well.
We find that we become more creative.
We find that we can heal relationships.
We find that we can be more open, that we share more of ourselves.
We find that we’re happier.
We’ll probably find that we quite like ours, and we quite like yours, and that there is a whole lot more to this whole thing than we thought before.
In fact we’ll find that there is a WHOLE lot more, and maybe it can be everything we’ve read about it, heard about it, dreamed about it, and more.
So we’ll bring it out into the Light, with a capital L. It needs to live and breathe and sing and shout and grow and laugh and teach and celebrate and…
And touch us, touch our hearts and spirits and bodies.
And then we can…
