CLIMATE CHANGE IS MAKING EVERYTHING WORSE
This is our last conversation before fire season in the United States begins. We’ve talked about wildfires of the past, we’ve talked about the struggles ahead. We’ve dared to reveal that FEMA is challenged to do its job because it is overwhelmed by the challenges of climate change.
What’s next for fire season? A need to change our perspective on wildfires because at least in California, we have become response-oriented, choosing to fight fires rather than prevent them.
Prevention is less expensive than responding. We need to start talking collectively about our choices in handling natural and environmental disasters which are a result of climate change working toward preventing them, not just surviving them.

Please come to the call and share your perspectives for how we need to progress toward preparing for the challenges of a climate changed world.
Then I want to offer the idea that we are obligated not only to mitigate climate change but to affect climate outcomes by using the technologies available to us.
