Three parents try to stop a sex pact in ‘Blockers’
I like a good comedy now and then. Sadly these days there aren’t many good ones that come out. Most of them follow a similar formula, and end up being pretty bad. When I heard of Blockers, I feared it was going to be one of those movies. When I got offered a review copy I decided to give it a chance. It was not what I thought it would be. Here is what I thought of this film.
You can read the plot for Blockers here:
When three parents stumble upon their daughters’ pact to lose their virginity at prom, they launch a covert one-night operation to stop the teens from sealing the deal.
I thought Blockers was going to be a mess, but boy was I wrong. The cast is great, the jokes weren’t too crazy, and this film had much more heart then it originally let on. Each parents has their reasons for freaking out, and this gives them some strong learning moments. These three teenage friends have been through a lot together, and they grow a ton in this movie. There are a few funny deleted scenes, a hilarious gag reel, and much more that shows the process of bringing this story to life. This film was rarely predictable and I think it is one of the better comedies I have seen in a good while. If you want to learn more about Blockers click on this website.
