‘Dean’ A film that took a different look at life and death
There are a lot of films out there about life and death. Yet I have never seen one like Dean before. It has a great cast and told a pretty good story. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the plot for Dean here:
Writer-director Demetri Martin stars alongside Academy Award® winner Kevin Kline in this comedic and heartfelt film about a father and son coming to terms with love, loss, and everything in between. Following a life-shaking event, Dean (Martin), a New York illustrator, hops a transcontinental flight hoping to figure out his increasingly crazy world. While in Los Angeles, Dean unexpectedly discovers romance, hope, inspiration, and the importance of family.

Dean surprised me in a few ways. The way he decided to tell this tale was clever and original. Using the illustrations helped convey many emotions without anything actually being said. With each one you could tell exactly how Dean felt in that moment, and it helped make a pretty emotionless character quite likable. The supporting cast help add much to this story, and even bring a few surprises with them as this tale unfolds. This may not be a film for everyone, but I sure liked it.
