Kat discovers something about her past in ‘Rose Colored Glasses’
Big changes are coming this season on The Bold Type. Sutton, Kat and Jane are all making decisions that are helping them grow as people. Yet these decisions aren’t always easy to make. Kat finds something out about herself in ‘Rose Colored Glasses’. I was able to watch a screener of this episode and this is what I thought of it.
You can read the premise for ‘Rose Colored Glasses’ here:
Believing it shouldn’t matter, Kat bristles when Alex recommends she highlights that she is black in her company bio. However, while introducing her parents to Adena, Kat is forced to confront how her avoidance of labels has affected her life. Sutton is horrified when she discovers her fellow fashion assistants think she was asked to organize a photo shoot featuring “honorable men” for reasons other than her talent. And Jane tries to defend herself after the fallout from her Incite article, which doesn’t go as planned.
‘Rose Colored Glasses’ was a revealing episode for Kat. One simple work assignment gave her insight into how she became the person she is. Meanwhile, Jane is trying to do damage control for an article she wrote, but it turns out to be harder than she thought. Sutton has her own things she is dealing with, but a photo shoot may help her out with it. The ending was a little predictable, but makes me curious to see what happens next.
