‘Renfield’ is out now on Digital
There have been tons of films made about Dracula. No two are alike, but they share many common elements. Yet never has the story been told from a different perspective. When I heard about Renfield, I was looking forward to checking it out. I was able to get a digital copy of this movie and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Renfield here:
Nicholas Hoult stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss: Dracula (Nicolas Cage). For centuries, he has slavishly served Dracula by procuring his master’s prey and doing his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, he is ready to look for a new life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness, if only he can figure out how to end the toxic, co-dependent relationship…
This was a fun film to watch. There is a good blend of comedy, horror and some thrilling action sequences. Along the way, we see these characters grow and change in many ways. ‘Dracula Uncaged’ had Nicolas Cage talking about how much fun he had playing this iconic villain. ‘Flesh and Blood’ showed all the work the crew put in to bring all the gory moments in this movie together. ‘Fighting Dirty’ reveals the process of bringing many of the action scenes in this film to life. There are also some good deleted and extended scenes.
Renfield is available now on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital. You can follow this movie on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
