Gar isn’t acting like himself in ‘Volatile’
Last time on Young Justice: Phantoms, we learned J’onn thankfully was safe and sound. This happy news was short lived after an important satellite was destroyed. Believed to be behind the whole thing M’Gann’s brother is taken into custody. M’Gann knows he isn’t behind it and they have a long overdue conversation about things. After Superboy and M’Gann have a small ceremony with her family we learn a bit more about why the three Legion heroes are here. After a small cave in happens Superboy gets hurt and M’Gann senses for a moment a mysterious psychic presence. As this episode comes to a close we see someone meet up with a dangerous enemy. Now something is off about Gar in ‘Volatile’. I was able to watch a screener of this episode and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the premise for ‘Volatile’ here:
Miss Martian and Superboy grapple with family traditions, while Beast Boy struggles with something much darker.
Preparations for the ceremony move along at the start of this episode. For some reason Gar is quicker to anger and Superboy can’t help but notice this. M’Gann joins the ladies to help with an important part of the ceremony and has a tough chat with her sister. While the men work on their part of the ceremony Gar decides to do something that takes them all by surprise. Gar is seeing something and it shakes him to his very core. When someone shows up to help him it puts him at ease, someone who loves him very much. Yet as this episode comes to a close it is a mystery as to actually helped him out.
Young Justice: Phantoms ‘Volatile’ is available now on HBO Max.
