About J. Chad Mitchell
J. Chad Mitchell has spent the past 30 years working alongside youth—as a coach, teacher, mentor, and father—witnessing the incredible impact of young people leading one another. His passion is simple and powerful: to help youth step into leadership not someday, but now!
From the sports fields and classrooms to summer camps and youth groups, Chad has seen what happens when young people are empowered to take the lead. His message is clear: youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are leaders now.
His book, Change Your Game: Empowering Young Leaders to Ditch Doubt, Find Their Voice, and Impact the World, is a dynamic and practical guide designed to inspire youth to discover their potential and grow into confident, authentic, and effective leaders. It's built on the belief that leadership is not about age—it's about self-awareness, confidence, and action.
Chad has presented these ideas to high school students, youth leadership camps, sports teams, and small groups, always with the same goal: to help youth realize they have the power to make an impact right where they are.
He and his wife, Bonnie, live in Richland, Washington. They’ve raised six kids and are proud grandparents to five granddaughters (so far). Chad’s mission is to spark a global movement of youth leaders—creating ripples of goodness that roll worldwide.
During the day, Chad is a lawyer and one of the leaders of the Seattle-based law firm Summit Law Group, PLLC. He is currently the President of the Board of Directors of his community’s Boys & Girls Club, one of the local leaders of his church, and the head boys lacrosse coach for Richland High School.
