Miles stretch between us,
A river of silence
where our love gasps for air, drowning in the expanse of neglect.
Tied to an invincible chain,
That keeps you out of reach
Your words,hollow promises
I cling to them,
Desperate for affection.
They slip through my fingers,
like sand in an hourglass.
I reach out to you,
Arms aching from the strain
You turn away, absorbed in your domain.
Leaving me to wonder alone,
In the wasteland of our love.
Doubt creeps in,a toxin in my veins.
Filling the foundation of trust
I question every”I love you”
I swallow my agony, a bitter pill.
Choking on the words left unsaid
completely aware,but chooses to stay.
falling in love alone, a mournful regret .
Our conversations, rare as shooting stars
Brief moments of light, in an endless abyss
My heart, a caged bird beating it’s wings
Against the grasp of this toxic love
Yearning for freedom, yet terrified of the beyond.
I close my eyes, imagining your caress,a ghost of warmth upon my skin.
But when I open them, reality crashes hard.
Cold and void, save for the glow
Yet in this darkness, a spark ignites
a realization,burning slow but bright.
That true love doesn’t drain but fills.
In this crucible pain, I find strength
To voice my truth, to demand from you.
