There is often a wonderful result when you do walk in purpose: You attain wealth. In other words, you become successful and gain access to money. There is certainly nothing wrong with that. Even Mother Theresa, who solidly walked in purpose and was wildly successful even as she lived humbly, knew that access to large amounts of solid currency increased her ability to reach her goal of taking care of masses of poor people. So, don’t be hesitant if your vision is clear about amassing monetary wealth to help you achieve your goals as you walk in purpose.
It is not a given that you will (or must) become wildly wealthy when you walk in purpose but the majority of people who become wealthy, do walk in purpose. They don’t let life happen to them, by accident. They make plans; they have a vision, and most of all, they take action! And if there are obstacles, because they walk in purpose, it is easier for them to recover, regain their footing and their momentum.
Your vision or life’s purpose does not have to be “sexy” and lead you to fame and fortune. However, if that is your desire, you must walk in purpose to attain it. You cannot expect it to happen by default.
From all appearances, Kim Kardashian and other members of her family walk in purpose. In truth, there is no evidence of any remarkable talent (which they readily admit) but they had a vision of what they wanted their lives to look like and they walked in purpose to get there. They put their vision in motion, used all their resources available to them, and they have consequently achieved a level of success few people attain.
We don’t see the work that they put into attaining their goals, but they didn’t reach their wealth and fame by accident. Everyone does not necessarily agree with the methods others use, but it is important that you believe in what you are doing.
The important thing is to learn how to walk in purpose. Some of us seem to come here knowing what to do, for others of us, it takes a while to realize where we’re going and what is needed to get there.
If you are having difficulty, these steps may help:
1. Discover what your purpose is.
What are your talents? What do you like to do? What are you drawn to?
2. Create a vision and a mission statement for yourself.
Start with the end in mind.
3. Explore your innate talents
Analyze how using those talents can help you walk in purpose.
4. Realize that your walk in purpose may have setbacks and obstacles.
After all, it is life we are talking about. Things happen; perseverance is necessary.
5. Be optimistic about your walk in purpose.
Becoming negative and downtrodden, overwhelmed by anything bad that may happen along the way is easy to fall into. It’s so much harder to be optimistic, but when you are optimistic about the outcome and when you walk in purpose, you master the negative.
6. Maintain positive connections with others.
Surround yourself with like-minded, can-do, people. They help buoy you along even during difficult times.
7. Don’t hesitate to seek advice and help.
Those who walk in purpose realize that they should not walk alone. They know they should call on that higher purpose and call on earthbound assistance, as well. Besides, walking alone is rarely as much fun as when you have the company of others.
8. Walk with gratitude.
When you are able to look at what you already have, then it is easier to walk in purpose with the expectation that you will reach your goals.
