Success.
It’s everywhere.
Motivational quotes. Highlight reels. Success appears through stories about people who rise above immense obstacles. On Instagram you can find many pages that showcase luxury possessions while showing heaps of applause and achievement markers.
And we eat it up.
Every person deep inside themselves desires to achieve their envisioned dream work while sustaining a successful business and constructing the ideal life of prosperity that epitomizes success.
The truth about success remains unknown to every new ambition seeker.
Success brings about hidden aspects which people prefer to ignore.
The Beginning Feels Electric
At the beginning stage all objectives seem reachable.
You create targets while establishing agendas and drive yourself with caffeine and work with determination. You stay awake late hours that fill your mind with fantasies about achieving your destination.
People cheer for you. “Go for it!” they say.
And then, something shifts.
The higher altitude produces increasingly rare atmospheric air. The crowd gets quieter. And the weight gets heavier.
Winning Isn’t What You Think
The following lessons should have been shared with me at the start of my success pursuit:
Success can be isolating.
Your level of focus determines the number of people who fail to comprehend your motivational drive. Friends drift away. Social plans vanish. Your extensive workload drives others to lose interest as you silently work from your solitary desk hoping this striving is worth it.
No one claps forever.
At first, people are impressed. Your continued dedication makes others lose sight of your commitment. Any achievement which brought you praise earlier now becomes mundane because others expect it from you. Your achievements no longer receive accolades after the achievement threshold continues to rise which makes you wonder about satisfaction levels.
Time, tranquility and part of your own identity will disappear from your life.
Grinding wears your time and fragments essential elements of your personal life. It takes parts of you. An unburdened self who used to laugh extensively. The important human connections which you could not spend adequate time developing. Your past-time activities served as backup while you focused on work more intensely.
The Loneliness of High Places
The pinnacle position brings its own solitude according to popular belief. It really can be.
People automatically attribute complete success to winners after they achieve victory. Success does not register their commitment to give up personal fulfillment.
The constant night-time self-doubt of every single judgment you made.
People frequently miss birthdays because of broken promises to their close family members.
Your mind continually asks whether your recent achievements will prove permanent or whether disaster is ready to strike.
And the worst part? People generally fail to understand your hidden struggles because you need to maintain silence.
Others comment “Must be fantastic to experience such problems” whenever you voice your attempts at reaching success.
So, you stay silent. And smile. And keep moving.
The Ugly Truth About Winning
Success won’t fix your insecurities.
Your running away will not be filled by success.
Success cannot operate magic which would lead to happiness.
Failure to recognize your inner worth becomes more apparent when you reach success as the unresolved parts of your identity remain evident to you.
Carelessness will make you persistently hunt for additional things while you continue to mistake increased assets for a solution.
More money. More followers. More recognition.
One day you will glance at your surroundings and understand the following truth:
Despite obtaining every item you pursued you maintain an empty void within.
So, What’s the Answer?
This text does not condone negative views about success. It’s not.
The path to goal achievement brings achievement that looks beautiful while delivering personal empowerment and creating feelings of achievement. One needs to retain their authentic self while reaching their goals.
The following lessons have come from my lessons learned through experience:
Define success for yourself.
Not what society tells you. Not what your parents expect. Not what Instagram glorifies. What you truly want.
Take people with you.
Moving forward with shared company makes the experience more rewarding. Don’t push everyone away. Seek out those who encourage you and maintain a strong connection with them.
Rest is part of winning.
Burnout stands as a condition that no one should strive to achieve.
Celebrate the small stuff.
Don’t wait for the big win.
Tell it as it really is with the complicated aspects.
Share your truth. There exists someone who requires to listen to your message
Success Shouldn’t Break You
Seeking success should be your goal if life pathway attracts you. Dream big. Work hard. Build your vision.
Success according to its genuine definition extends past reaching specific outcomes. Your feelings during arrival will determine the true success you achieve.
Trading your soul along with your relationships and peace and joy will not purchase you a trophy that will offer you night-time comfort.
Winning everything does not matter if it makes you lose yourself entirely.
