‘Katrina Hyena Stand Up Comedian’ is out now
It can be a true joy reading children’s fiction. No two books are the same and can take readers of all ages on some wonderful journeys. When I learned about Katrina Hyena Stand Up Comedian I was looking forward to reading it. I was able to get a digital copy of this book and here is my thoughts on it.
You can read the plot for this book here:
When the spotted hyenas in Katrina’s clan laugh, it’s meant as a warning to alert the clan that danger is near. But that’s not why Katrina laughs. Katrina laughs because she thinks the world is just sooooo funny!
This causes great frustration with the other hyenas. Every single time Katrina starts laughing, they think she’s in danger and rush to help her. What if Gary the Lion is on the prowl?!
Katrina, whose dream is to be a stand-up comedian, thinks her stressed-out clan worries too much about Gary, so she decides to help them relax by putting on a comedy show.
This laugh-out-loud story will have readers developing their own jokes, and the hilarious illustrations will act as a helpful guide for emerging readers, who will devour chapter after chapter. The recurring theme of self-acceptance assures readers that it’s okay to be different, and that sometimes it’s our differences that make us special.
Overall this was a great book. Katrina is driving her clan nuts by always laughing when nothing is wrong. To calm their nerves, she thinks it is a good idea to put on a comedy show for them. While this is going on, someone shows up hoping to cause harm to those in the clan. Thanks to some quick thinking, the crisis is adverted and everyone learns a good lesson. Some kids will have a wonderful time reading this book.
Katrina Hyena Stand Up Comedian is available now. You can order this book on Amazon, at Barnes and Noble and on Bookshop.
