In July, I told my girlfriend—with whom I have a two-year-old daughter—I was going to become a freelance writer. She probably thinks I have zero integrity because since then, I have tried ten other ideas instead of sticking to the original. I’m working on being more consistent, and building my confidence. The reason I haven’t followed through with many of my ideas is because I’m afraid to fail. I have dreamed of having a career as a writer. The only way I can become a great writer is to risk failure. It is time for me to write.
