Some days I didn’t know if I was healing or just hiding.
Because when you’ve been through enough, even peace feels suspicious.
Too quiet. Too still. Too unfamiliar.
But healing isn’t pretty. It’s the part of the story most people skip.
They talk about glow-ups, comebacks, new beginnings —
but they never talk about the days you sit on the floor, questioning if you’ll ever feel whole again.
I’ve been there.
Where your past clings to your back like a second skin.
Where you can’t tell if you’re grieving the old you or protecting the new one.
Where you feel like you’re failing because you’re still hurting.
But I kept moving.
Not because I was ready. Not because it stopped hurting.
But because staying in the same place felt like slow death.
And if you’re in that place right now, where you feel stuck, tired, numb
let me say this to you like I said it to myself:
Healing isn’t about forgetting what broke you.
It’s about deciding that what broke you doesn’t get to keep you.
I started walking forward the moment I realized I was still breathing.
Still capable of changing direction.
Still worthy of the kind of life that makes my heart feel safe in my own chest again.
And no, it wasn’t a straight line.
I took steps forward.
Slipped.
Fell back.
But even my backward steps taught me something:
Healing isn’t perfect. It’s proof that you’re still fighting for yourself.
So no, I won’t romanticize healing.
But I will say this:
If you keep choosing you even when it’s hard
one day, you’ll wake up and realize you’re not surviving anymore.
You’re living.
And that’s a damn miracle.
This is your permission to move forward, messy, slow, unsure — but forward.
Because broken doesn’t mean finished. It just means you’re still becoming.
