Liberal capitalism tends to remove all rules from the free market. It aims to name capital as the ultimate value in society to which all need to obey, and if possible, the only value. It is quite understandable that those people who have capital support the ideology of liberal capitalism strongly because it gives them the ultimate power in society. Today, everything is about power over others and that is the reason we live in such a destructive environment.
As a result of the free market, stronger producers win while weaker ones lose. Losers in liberal capitalism are subject to a much worse position than a well-oriented society would allow. Unemployed people are not able to earn money for a living. Also, unemployed people tend to accept low paid jobs in order to survive. That increases income disparity among people. Those who do not have enough money cannot purchase enough while those who have too much money do not need to purchase much because they already have a lot. The market falls and the economy nose dives into recession and crisis. That is exactly what we have today. Liberal capitalism is a reason we have an unsustainable economy today.
Liberal capitalism also works hard to suppress regulation of production processes, which pollutes our world, creating an unhealthy environment. The lack of proper regulation lets producers makes unhealthy food. For example, the meat industry prevents animals from getting sick by giving them antibiotics. When we eat meat we consume enough antibiotics that bacteria in our organism becomes resistant to them and cannot be eliminated. In the future, antibiotics might not be able to cure us anymore. Or we protect crops from parasites by using pesticides and other poisons. They make us ill. Most cancer cases occur by eating poisonous food. Canadian cancer society predicts that every other person will get ill from cancer. Statistically, that means between two of us dear reader one will get cancer. Paradoxically, the producers also consume the same food because earning money is more important to them than their own health.
I hope that the majority of readers here understand that we have to regulate capitalism. But we have to make smart rules. My philosophy states that the only good solution for society lies in equal human rights. Once equal human rights are established, society will become unavoidably well. I have explained it in detail in my book Humanism. Equal human rights cannot be imposed on society. Society needs to understand the benefits coming from equal human rights and needs time to accept them, and so they will be established gradually.
In the economy, building equal human rights must start with the right for everyone to be employed. If the opening of new work posts is not needed, full employment will be established by shortening work hours proportionally to the unemployment rate. Once unemployment is eliminated, employers would have to fight each other to hire workers and that will be established by raising salaries. The fair market will regulate everything well. UBI or unions will not be needed anymore. Workers will earn more and would be able to purchase more, thereby growing the economy. The whole society will profit from it. I wrote more about it in the article “Let’s Remove Unemployment”.
Our health cannot be compromised by production greed. We have to create much heavier regulation of production than what currently exists. We need to eliminate the use of poisons in the food industry. This will make us much healthier. However, we do not need to count on strong bureaucracy only. My new idea will help political systems be more efficient. The idea is based again on equal rights for all the people. Let’s give everyone the equal power to evaluate let say three people positively and three people negatively monthly. Let a positive evaluation brings small awards to the evaluated person and a negative evaluation brings small punishments. That would for the first time put a small direct power in the hands of the people. I have called it democratic anarchy and wrote more about that in the article “The Future of Democracy“.
What would we achieve with it? Direct peoples’ involvement in judging other people would additionally help to protect our environment because people would certainly punish those who pollute it. That will protect the environment more. But the system of evaluation will improve society much more. People will start respecting other people equally. People will become the values of all people. They all will work hard to produce the greatest possible advantages for society, and to diminish or even abolish the creation of all forms of disadvantages. That will unconditionally and unavoidably create a good society. The improvement of society will not stop there; people will continue improving society until it becomes fantastic and even better. It is quite possible that people will learn through their own living practice what they are supposed to do in their lives and what not so that regulation by laws might not be needed anymore.
Equal human rights are the only way to go to build a good society. They are the missing part in the history of humankind which has prevented society from being well. Once they are established, evil will be eliminated from the surface of the planet Earth and the bright future of humankind will begin. Outlining how equal human rights have to look like in order to make such an improvement makes me a messiah.
