Steve Jaeger shares a comical documentation of his life.
_____
I was born in the 1950’s to white people
Up until a couple of years ago I was very reluctant to admit it but I was born in Scranton, PA
I don’t remember living there because as a toddler I moved to New York which I have always considered home.
My mom was an Irish girl
She was born and raised in Brooklyn.
Where her father was a New York Cop
I was a typical suburban kid. I was a scout
I was an altar boy
and I was crazy about baseball. I saw my first baseball game at the legendary Polo Grounds in 1963
Actually it was a shithole by then but it was a legendary shithole.
In 1968 my family moved to Washington, DC
I was very upset to have been uprooted and left the only home I’d ever know and I soon turned to a life of drugs and general mayhem.
As I grew older I became very radical
but then began to mellow with age
… more than once
I had a bunch of kids
but I was never around because I was always working
Now I’m getting older
I mostly just stay home or just hang out with a few old friends
I still love baseball
and I still live in Washington.
The End.
