Is it ideal? No.
Is it a spur-of-the-moment thing? Maybe.
Is it going to be hard? Most definitely.
But today, my heart tells me I want to be an author. So, I think it’s only fair that I give it a try, no? But what do I write? A novel? An essay? Poems? Anecdotes? I don’t know. I don’t even have an idea for a first draft or a concept. So I am truly starting from square one.
Writing always came easily to me. I used to have good handwriting when I was in school, and I always enjoyed the process of writing — even if it was just copying down the notes from the blackboard to the notebook. I have also tried writing essays, poems, and stories — some were more successful than others. And I love reading. Oh my goodness, how I love reading, getting lost in the story, and collecting books. So, I think it is only natural that I would want to try my hand at writing too. I mean, serious writing.
I do have a few published articles on Medium, and I think Medium is also a good platform to start writing. So here we go. I am publishing this on Medium to hear from you — my readers — even if there are only a handful of you.
Please tell me:
- What do you enjoy reading?
- What would you like to read more of?
- What are your tips for an author who is at the very beginning of her journey?
Anything you are willing to share, please do so in the comment section. This is me sending out the bat signal to all of you for help. I would be grateful for anything and everything you are willing to share with me. Leave your thoughts in the comments!
Thank you for your help and your generosity.
With all my love,
Anet
