Daymond John, entrepreneur and Shark on ABC’s Shark Tank, opens up about his experience as being the father of a child with a learning difference.
Even though he has dyslexia himself, it still took time for him to realize that his daughter’s struggles in school were actually signs of a learning difference. As a parent, Daymond appreciates the simple step-by-step process that Take N.O.T.E. offers to parents who don’t know what signs to look for or what steps to take.

My oldest daughter was challenged in school

and actually kicked out of a school

and it broke my heart to realize that probably

about a year after that,

the teachers and her mother

would recognize that she was dyslexic.

I didn’t have the patience to look

and realize what was going on with her,

even though she had the same learning disability

that I had.

Even though I have dyslexia,

I don’t know how to solve for other people.

It’s been something that I have managed to adjust

in my life.

And that means that I wasn’t able to identify

with her and, or give her the proper solution

because I’m not a professional in this area.

And that’s why I think Take N.O.T.E extremely valuable,

extremely important, because it gives you

to help identify, to help give solutions,

and to help find experts that will also help you

in the areas that you’re not strong at.

I now am raising a third daughter

and like every other parent we’re home,

we’re teaching them at home

and were becoming the teachers again.

I’m able to identify if there happens to be

that issue or know that that is not the issue

because of the way that we’ve been able to analyze her,
