There is no shortage of reasons. It’s necessary to take time for everything. This desperation to be happy, this need for exhibitionism, this bitter soul’s craving to show that it exists.
Find some time for yourself, try to get to know yourself.
But my friend, I tell you with certainty, take as much time as you need, yet you will never fully know yourself; there is always a new image, a new context, a new page that changes everything within you.
These virtual shop windows confuse the perception we have of life, of our life, of who we are, how we are… the world seems perfect and creates a stage of illusions, where everything seems picture-perfect, like paradise itself.
No! Life is much more than that; we cry, laugh, argue, are happy, suffer, get sad. This is being human, showing feelings, valuing privacy, true friends. There is no perfection, you don’t wear a smile on your face 24 hours a day, and yes, happiness exists, and it’s wonderful when we recognize the moments when this energy appears, but the other side of the coin always appears, and that doesn’t make you weak or worse, it makes you human.
To lighten the mood: stop taking everything so literally and live.
If it hurts: cry, if you’re happy: smile, if you’re hurt: speak up, if you love: look into their eyes, if you’re lost: calm down, if you need time: take a break, put your thoughts in order.
Pleasing all the time is out of fashion, believe me, it’s cool to be happy and not just appear happy.
Displaying happiness all the time, showing how great your life is, doing what others want you to do is tacky, cheesy, it’s out of date.
Fernando Pessoa said:
“If you feel you need to go back, go back! If you realize you need to move forward, move forward! If everything is wrong, start over! If everything is right, continue. If you miss something, go after it. If you lose love, don’t lose yourself! If you find it: hold on to it! Surround yourself with roses and love… the rest is nothing.”
The rest is nothing!
