Jamie Reidy thrusts, er, throws his support behind Padma Lakshmi’s bid for an Emmy.
I arrived late to the “Top Chef” bandwagon. Forced to watch by my ex-girlfriend, I quickly warmed to the cooking competition. My change of heart, though, had little to do with chatty chefs or culinary creativity. No, I became a devoted fan for one reason:
Padma.
In the history of attractive women, Ms. Lakshmi is the top seed. On this, I will brook no debate.
She is smart, funny and nicer to look at than a sunset on the ocean. I’d give up breathing for a date with her. Unfortunately for me, she and I did not run into each other at the Emmy ceremonies I attended in 2007.
Sadly, I do not have an Emmy ballot. If I did, I would vote early for Padma and scam a way to vote often. But I would have done so even without the world’s most persuasive poster; not that I am complaining about Bravo’s efforts to support its star.
What about you, GMP readers? Do ads like this work with you? Insult you?
Love her! Love the whole dripping chocolate/vampire blood vibe there! She is ultra-cool!
Jamie and I are in a big fight over what is hotter: this ad or the one featuring Padma for Carl’s Jr. Thoughts?
Chocolate beats burger (and I’m a HUGE fan of burgers).
But I kinda wish she was looking into the camera and not in the distance.
Danny, thank you for that idea!
She’s attractive but the “food as sex” bit is old. I know she’s a chef so that ups the likelyhood of reaching for that trope but still, its old.
Let’s just be glad she is not sitting in a giant chocolate fountain where you can’t tell if she wearing any clothes or not.
