Whether you’re a business owner or a dedicated creative, you’ll find that your greatest success will happen when you begin to systemize your productivity.
If you haven’t done this before, in your life or your business, this can be challenging to wrap your head around.
With that in mind, here are seven tips that can help you boost your productivity, systemize your life and/or business and create with more peace of mind.
Quick side note, these aren’t in any specific order, I use them all!
1.Using A Digital Calendar For Time Management
This is one of the core parts of my own productivity design. One of the best ways to ensure my life stays structured and organized to my needs, is to make sure that I add events into my calendar. This makes it so I don’t have to worry or stress about when that one event is happening. I know, when I wake up that day, or review at the beginning of that week, my appointments and tasks will be there waiting for me.
2.Taking Notes
I’ll be honest. My memory isn’t great. How do I get around that? I take notes on everything. If there’s a piece of information that crosses my radar, I make sure to jot it down or record it digitally so I can reference later. How do I remember to reference later? I’ll share another quick tip about that in the next point.
3.Setting Reminders/Sending Oneself Emails
This is one of the best ways that I retain information. If there’s something I need to remember, I’ll send myself a quick email, knowing that it’ll be at the top of my notifications when I’m ready to process the information. This is especially helpful when traveling.
4.Eating A Balanced, Nutrient Dense Diet
Want to be productive? You need to treat your body and mind right. I’m not here to make statements about what you should eat, how much, or any specific diet or ethos. What I will do is encourage you to eat a clean, balanced and nutrient dense diet. Thank me later.
5.Batch Scheduling
This one is huge. Need to get something done? Put it on your calendar and limit the amount of time for the project. Case in point. I’ve been putting off writing this article. What did I do? I gave myself 30 minutes in between calls to get it done. I’ll likely be finished before the 30 minutes are up. When you limit the amount of time you have for a task, your brain will accelerate and accomplish the objective quicker. Want to up your efficiency for yourself or your team? Shorten the amount of time available for the process.
Have complex or dreaded processes that you need to do? Put them in one time block and get it done. Set aside all distractions and dive in. You’ll be amazed what you can accomplish using this strategy.
6.Learn To Manage Communications & Business Operations From Your Mobile Device
This one is essential, especially for travelers. You may not be able to do a dive deep on project design from mobile, but you can definitely review, approve or communicate while on the go. Learn to delegate and how to create mobile-friendly systems and, as your life and business scales, you’ll be consistently rewarded for the thought and care you put into learning to manage your operations from mobile.
7.Start ‘Now’
This one is deceptively simple but likely the most important productivity tip of them all. There’s always going to be a better time to start. Whether it’s calling a prospect or writing an article, the best time to start is now.
Want to be productive? Do the work when it’s supposed to get done. You’ll be amazed by how much committing to doing your best in each moment will lead towards. This is mindset work and some of the most important work you can do. Make the commitment to yourself. Do your best in each moment. Starting. Now.
