It’s her addictive giggle when she laughs at my jokes
It’s the intensity of her thoughts when I seek her advice
The sweetness of her touch when she puts her hand in mine
The pain of her cry when she hurts
a sadness that makes me drop everything, to just hold her until her tears dry
It’s her innocence that causes me to be overprotective
And her fierce run at life that then frees my fears
And when the sun has risen and set, it’s her soft voice when she whispers “good night”
followed by a simple “I love you, Daddy”.
My daughter is my one, unconditional love
the one love that cannot, and never will change.
