Bridget Welch is an assistant professor of Sociology in the Sociology & Anthropology department at Western Illinois University. She regularly teaches introduction to sociology, research methods, and classes on social inequalities. Recent research has examined the sex scandal at Penn State University, emotion norms and memorial tattoos, and is working on a grant to examine how the characteristics of response networks (e.g. police, advocates, university personnel) affect outcomes for rape victims.
