About Mark Pacitti
Mark Pacitti is an expat Scot of Italian descent, a happily married father of two, who has been living in Australia for 15 years. He also fought the black dogs of gradually increasing anxiety and depression in silence for a number of years. In 2010, Mark found himself teetering nervously on the edge of breakdown, and finally took action in seeking full and proper professional help. Mark made a full and complete recovery from his mental ailments, and now lives what he describes as "a life far more enjoyable, more normal than he ever thought possible." Since September 2011, Mark has also been openly, honestly and with an element of humour, documenting his journey on his blog Dancing With The Black Dog, which has regular readers from around the globe. Mark has also spoken about his story on major radio stations as well as being featured in mainstream newspapers. Mark¹s story appeals to sufferers of mental illnesses who realise in reading his story that they are not alone, that hope exists. Importantly, his story also appeals to non-suffers, who often struggle to sympathise with or understand colleagues, friends and loved ones who are suffering.
