Nathan is more than just a businessman. He is a mentor, an author, and a leader who believes in the power of faith and resilience. His story is one of overcoming challenges, adapting to change, and using failure as a stepping stone to success.
Building Businesses Across Borders
Nathan’s career started in real estate. He founded DN International, a development company in Rwanda. His company worked on major projects for organizations like the U.S. Embassy, UNICEF, and Coca-Cola. The business thrived, but over time, economic challenges arose.
“I thought I had lost everything,” Nathan says. “But looking back, that failure was a turning point. It taught me how to pivot, how to adapt, and how to lead through a crisis.”
Instead of giving up, he turned to global trade. He recognized an opportunity in Kenya’s avocado industry. Many farmers lacked access to international markets. Nathan founded Avoveg Health Kenya Ltd to bridge the gap. Today, Avoveg is one of Kenya’s top 10 avocado exporters, supplying produce to Europe and the Middle East.
“We’re not just exporting avocados,” Nathan explains. “We’re creating jobs, opening markets for local farmers, and ensuring they get fair prices.”
The Role of Faith in Business
For Nathan, faith is not separate from business. It guides his decisions, leadership style, and long-term vision.
“Faith is my anchor,” he says. “In business, there are so many uncertainties. But I trust that God is guiding me, even when things don’t go as planned.”
He believes that biblical values—honesty, integrity, and service—are key to building lasting success.
“Honesty builds trust,” Nathan says. “A business built on integrity will last longer than one built on deception.”
This approach has helped him navigate challenges and build strong relationships with clients and partners worldwide.
Expanding into Global Consulting
With decades of hands-on experience, Nathan launched Loyd Global Consulting. His consulting firm provides business strategy and market expansion insights to entrepreneurs worldwide. He helps companies navigate cross-border trade, risk management, and industry shifts.
“Many entrepreneurs struggle with scaling their businesses globally,” Nathan says. “They have great ideas but lack the strategy to expand beyond their local markets.”
Through his consulting firm, he provides practical advice based on real-world experience. His goal is to help businesses grow while maintaining ethical and sustainable practices.
Lessons from Failure
Nathan has faced setbacks, but each one has taught him something valuable. He believes that failure is not the end—it’s a lesson.
“Failure is just feedback,” he says. “If you learn from it, you come back wiser and more prepared.”
This mindset led him to write his book, My Successful Failures. In it, he shares his toughest moments and the lessons they taught him. He hopes to inspire entrepreneurs to embrace challenges and keep pushing forward.
Giving Back and Mentoring Others
Beyond business, Nathan is passionate about mentorship. He spends time guiding young entrepreneurs, supporting education initiatives, and helping small-scale farmers improve their businesses.
“True success is not about what you gain—it’s about what you give back,” he says.
Nathan believes that leadership is about lifting others. Whether through business or mentorship, he aims to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs.
“If I can help others avoid my mistakes, if I can inspire someone to keep going, then my journey has meaning,” he says.
Looking to the Future
Nathan’s journey is far from over. He continues to expand his businesses, mentor young leaders, and advocate for ethical and sustainable business practices. He is excited about the future of African trade and the opportunities that technology brings to global markets.
“The world is more connected than ever,” he says. “Businesses that embrace innovation and build strong networks will thrive.”
Nathan Loyd Ndungu’s story is proof that resilience, faith, and a commitment to ethical leadership can create lasting success. His journey is an inspiration for anyone looking to build a meaningful and impactful career.
