The comfortable, the familiar, the formulas
When this behavior occurs in one
Then that behavior occurs in another
Always be sure to take yourself down a notch
Sometimes others just cannot take all of you
When you step in sand underneath the waters
It stirs up in a multitude of swirls
Everything in disarray until it settles once again
And so it can be with transitions
From appearance to authenticity
Not sure where the path is leading
Each step opens a new mystery
Some things have been done right
But they came from a wrong place
Doing this to keep up appearances
Is a very different experience
Than doing this to be true
Unlearning and relearning
Yet keeping it simple
Framing it as forward motion
This is a moment you know how to do better
That is a moment you cannot discern a lesson
But what you know keeps on building
And soon your heart is a temple
All the brokenness restored
Beaming with the light of a home
You have something no one else does
And you are here to share it
Your value is mighty and inherent
Just as us all
Pain can be a very wise teacher
But if you can learn without please do
No one has lived quite like you
And many need what only you know
If you can believe in yourself gently
Instead of with the cut of heartbreak
What a win for you and for all of us too
Begin with a question
When you feel strongly
What are you reacting to?
Is it the present or the past
When did you first feel this way
What grieving is crying out to be healed
Love and support yourself
As if you are your own friend
Community is exceptional
But so are you
Only you know
The depths of your own heart
So be courageous to your deep.
You’ve got this!
