We Reelected a Horror-show Madman. The Horrors Are Multiplying

Last November, Americans made one of the worst sociopolitical mistakes ever. By a slim margin, we reelected *bleep* (I refuse to say or write his name anymore) — and with him, all his toxic baggage and his entourage of fanatical ‘tear it all down’ *bleepers*.

We foolishly, madly, unnervingly — but not unexpectedly — reelected a convicted criminal, sexual abuser, long-time racist and con man, and unrepentant grifter as our president. We did it again, after apparently learning nothing during and since his first term. Zip. Nada.

What could possibly go wrong?

Answer: everything. Everything! And we’re rapidly discovering that ‘everything’ is NOT an exaggeration. Rather, it’s a pale description of the extent of the damage and rampant chaos he is unleashing.

Forget ‘normal.’ *Bleep* is a toxic stew of dangerous mental disorders

First, let’s clarify something crucial: *bleep* is NOT, in any way, a ‘normal’ human being. Normal people, including normal politicians, have a somewhat functional moral compass, care about their communities and society, and are able (sometimes, at least) to put larger social needs above their selfish desires or reactions.

Not so with *bleep*. He doesn’t have a caring, empathetic, or patriotic bone in his body.

Scarily, *bleep* is a perfect example of a rare type of human being: a completely self-centered, vengeful, and utterly amoral manipulator. I have a background in psychology, and I’ve read extensively about *bleep* and his dangerous personality disorders. After watching him in action for several decades, I agree with many other psychological commentators that he combines the very worst features of sociopathy, narcissism, and megalomania.

Plus, he’s a compulsive pathological liar and manipulator. He is truly a ‘psychiatrist’s nightmare.’ And he is leading us — no, hurling us — into a very dark and demented ‘reality.’

Yet *bleep* still has the support of many millions of Americans and has the power of the entire federal government behind him. ‘His’ party, the GOP (which he fully ‘owns’ now), controls every branch of government — and so far, is unwilling to ever challenge him or oppose his bizarre or vengeful actions in any meaningful way.

And guess what? This partisan, ‘patriotic’ support for *bleep* and his destructive ‘policies’ is quickly isolating the U.S… more than ever before. It’s making us look like a nation of spineless wimps and fools. Worse, it shows that we are largely ‘spineless wimps and fools.’ It shows that the damned *bleep* Kool-Aid trance isn’t even close to wearing off yet.

The rest of the world is leaving the U.S. behind

But other nations and their leaders are well aware of *bleep’s* bizarre and dangerous personality traits — and his destructive iron grip on U.S. politics.

Thus, they (even some fellow dictator wannabes) are rapidly moving away from the U.S., away from *bleep*, and increasingly cutting him and the U.S. off from the rest of the global community.

Our idiotic ‘America First’ isolationism (which is idiotic precisely because we’re an integral part of an interrelated global economy as well as various trade pacts and NATO) has propelled us into true isolation, in which we’re increasingly viewed with hatred and scorn by most other nations and peoples.

I wouldn’t call this disastrous result a ‘success.’ Nor is it effectively ‘Making America Great Again.’

The acronym MAHHA would be far more accurate: ‘Make America Hateful and Hated Again’!

*Bleep’s* wildly inappropriate territorial ambitions

Take *bleep’s* frequent arrogant and offensive statements about the U.S. ‘taking over’ Greenland or making Canada our ‘51st state.’ No one in either Greenland or Canada has the slightest desire to be ‘taken over’ by the U.S., and their leaders and governments have made this abundantly clear. Yet *bleep* doesn’t care one bit what they want or what their needs are.

In his uniquely grandiose way, *bleep* keeps repeating the same offensive BS and claims the U.S. WILL get these lands or nations and make them ours. His brazen hubris is astounding (and shameful); it clearly reveals his deep megalomaniacal desire for conquest and empire. It shows his undeniable thirst to create a new, expanded ‘American empire.’

In this, *bleep* is following in his idol Putin’s footsteps. Putin audaciously invaded Ukraine, and Russia is continuing its brutal assaults… with little effective pushback from the U.S. or Europe. *Bleep* has even sided with Putin over Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy, and falsely accused Ukraine of ‘starting’ the conflict. Just last week, *bleep* declared that a ‘peace settlement’ in which Ukraine ceded its conquered territory to Russia — permanently — is a ‘good deal’ for Ukraine because that way Russia won’t persist and take the whole country!

Somehow, the GOP, the former ‘law and order’ party, doesn’t get how dangerously subversive these attitudes and behaviors are to modern civilization. A few folks DO get it, but they’re just voices crying in the wilderness.

Overall, the GOP is enabling *bleep’s* many excesses, insults, and rabid plans for vengeance against his long list of ‘enemies’ — and seems incapable of recognizing out-of-control megalomania even when it’s staring them in the face.

Meanwhile, Canada’s election just swung hard to the Liberal, anti-*bleep* party. This sudden huge swing was directly caused by *bleep’s* ongoing, infuriating threats to annex Canada.

OF COURSE we’re in a constitutional crisis!

Many folks in the U.S. are wringing their hands and anxiously wondering, “Is the U.S. in a true constitutional crisis yet?” My response is: Hell, yes! Followed by… Duh!

Ever since *bleep* 2.0 began in January, he has trampled one norm, law, and constitutional guardrail after another, in areas as diverse as diplomatic relations, environmental protections, commerce, federal employment, immigration, consumer protections, and foreign aid. Right from the start, *bleep* 2.0 has been one long series of constitutional crises… with *bleep* constantly upping the ante.

It’s obvious to any objective observer that he seeks to take down the U.S. government and remake it in his own image. He lusts after confrontations with our courts and even the Supreme Court — because in his fervent megalomania, he strongly believes he will win and CAN take them down.

He wants to show he is more powerful than our system of ‘checks and balances’ and our entire government. And he appears eager for the coming legal fights over his powers and executive authority.

*Bleep’s* arrogance and careless cruelty will lead to his downfall

But here, I have to refer back to his grave personality disorders. Due to his arrogance, narcissism, and megalomania, *bleep* will not in any way back down from a public feud with the Supreme Court. Nor will he give in to its rulings and orders, since he sees them and our laws merely as annoying impediments to his grandiose schemes.

In fact, he and his administration have already ignored major court rulings and limits and routinely employ his time-worn ‘delay, delay, delay’ tactics. Plus, they often say they are following the law and obeying judicial rulings and orders, but then simply… don’t.

The huge problem we face is that *bleep* fundamentally doesn’t believe in the rule of law and the paramount importance of a rules-based social order. He prefers and insists on a vicious, dog-eat-dog version of ‘reality’ — and is working hard to impose that grim vision on both the U.S. and the entire world.

That’s the entire motivation for his extreme ‘trade war’ tariffs, apparently. Everything is seen as ‘win-lose,’ never as a mutual ‘win-win’ situation — and he’s trying to bully the rest of the world into submission and ensure the U.S. always ‘wins.’

But it’s backfiring badly. We the people, both here and around the world, are getting more and more fed up with his lies, arrogance, and endless economic meddling.

A vast, intense social explosion is brewing, which will inevitably take the form of massive, growing collisions and conflicts between *bleep*-world and… everyone else. It could, and probably will, get very ugly and perhaps quite violent.

It’s totally clear, now, that *bleep* is going to continue or even amplify his horrid, hateful, and arrogant behaviors, ‘policies,’ and actions. He will not change his ways or tone down his assaults on immigrants, democracy, science, climate action, the rule of law, and our very system of government. His entire agenda is to ‘burn it all down’ and then remake America as a grandiose monument to… himself, of course.

But his arrogance and boundless hubris will surely be his downfall — whether it takes a year, two years, or longer. That’s the usual fate of hateful demagogues and cruel, soulless tyrants.

I just hope the U.S. can survive that long without totally collapsing.
