A funny thing happens when your home gets smarter. You start expecting your devices to do things before you ask. Your lights dim automatically at night. Your thermostat adjusts when you leave. Your robot vacuum starts cleaning while youre at lunch. So why is your air purifier still pretending it’s 2005?
It turns out Dreame Technology has been asking that question, too. Their answer is the AirPursue PM20, a new entry into the world of smart environmental control that doesnt just filter the air, it follows you.
If youve never considered the user experience of a purifier, thats part of the problem. Most devices in this category quietly churn away in a corner, unaware of whos home, how the air changes, or whether theyre even needed. The PM20 is different. It senses you. It adjusts in real time. And, maybe most interestingly, it behaves more like a responsive appliance than a static machine.
At the device’s heart is millimeter-wave radar—yes, radar—via what Dreame calls Enviro Detectâ„¢ Technology. When someone walks into the room, the PM20 powers on. It scans a 120-degree arc across a five-meter distance, adjusting the airflow directionand intensity to your location. If more than one person enters, the device shifts to a wide-angle coverage mode, swinging air across the space rather than locking onto a single point. It’s not just tracking movement—its optimizing output based on human presence.
This all works in tandem with what Dreame calls Dualflow Modulation Technology, which simultaneously sends filtered air upward and forward. Why does this matter? Many purifiers create vertical airflow that never reaches where you’re actually sitting. This split-stream design helps move clean air across a space of up to 100 square metersand can push air up to 10 metersforward—enough to circulate in most open-plan living rooms.
Sensors inside the PM20 monitor everything from PM2.5 to formaldehyde, with live readings shown on a sleek LCD display. Of course, it syncs with the Dreamehome appfor scheduling, trend tracking, and remote control. Theres also voice integration and a surprisingly fast heating modethat warms air in just three seconds. Its a small but welcome bonus that pushes the PM20 into year-round territory, purifier in spring, fan in summer, heater in winter.

What about filtration? Dreame doesnt skimp there either. The PM20 features a 4-layer systemwith HEPA H13 filtration, an activated carbon layer, and a formaldehyde-decomposing filterthat never needs replacing. It claims to remove 99.99% of airborne pollutants, including allergens, bacteria, and odor-causing gases. Thats impressive, though, as always, real-world air quality varies by home.
But the most striking part of the PM20 isnt the tech on paper. Its how the machine vanishes into the background—until you realize the air feels fresher, the space more comfortable, and you havent touched a single control in days. Thats the mark of a device designed not just to work, but to understand its environment.
The Dreame AirPursue PM20 is available now for $999.99, with limited-time offers through Dreame’s official website and Amazon store. If your home is smart enough to light itself and clean its floors, maybe its time the air knew what to do too.
