Ladies, I Apologize for Donald Trump’s Insensitivity

Ladies, we owe you an apology,

After watching three presidential debates and after watching the political gamesmanship (or the lack of it), I would like to represent an ICONIC apology for the women of our country. His constant belittling of you and his thinking that gives him the OK to mishandle one of God’s greatest gift to man . . . women. Anything done against your will is flat out wrong and uncalled for.

Donald Trump was caught on camera and taped stating he grabbed women’s privates and kissed them because he felt he simply could. Let me state the definition of sexual assault, “Sexual assault is a sexual act in which a person is coerced or physically forced to engage against their will or a non-consensual sexual touching of a person. Sexual assault is a form of sexual violence, and it includes rape, groping, child sexual abuse, or the torture of the person in a sexual manner.” As innocent as Donald Trump tries to make what he did seem, at least nine women have stated he did something inappropriate to them.

How many men have gone to prison, lost jobs, suffered embarrassment for “alleged sex crimes” in our country? Something as recent as the leading actor in the current film, Birth of A Nation, Nate Parker, has received criticism for his involvement with a young lady several years ago who accused him of rape. He was found innocent but the film has done very poorly at the box office because of the accusation of rape.

Why is Donald Trump getting a pass?

I have a question for the women who support Donald Trump. Why do you support a man who does not respect you as a woman?

• Is it because he is a white male? Is it because he is rich? Is it because he is running for President?

• Would our current President still be in office if he was caught on camera and taped stating he groped and kissed women against their will?

• Should the President of the United States be held to a higher standard?

• Does character matter when it comes to the highest office in the land? If Donald Trump is elected to be the next president, will he be groping more women?

Well, I have a few pointers for men (in power or not) on how to handle women. I have taught these to my two sons who are college men now.

First, always respect women.

I am sure this goes without saying, but amidst current affairs, I will list it here. ALWAYS RESPECT WOMEN. I just said this recently to a friend, If a woman wants you, you will know it. If she doesn’t want you, you will know that too. There is never any circumstance where disrespecting a woman is acceptable. All people, especially women, should be respected at all times. How do you respect a woman Dr. Sims? It is quite simple, always ask for permission to enter her space. If she wants you to touch her, she will let you know.

Secondly, Never, ever force yourself on a woman.

I defined sexual assault above. I have taught my sons; if a young lady says no, she means it. There are times when a woman is being playful and says NO (that is another article for another time…LOL), but when she says NO, 99% of the time that is exactly what she means. I told my sons; when a woman says NO, get the check, pay the bill, and take her home. The worst thing you can do to a woman is run the RED light and treat it like it’s a GREEN light. All women love being respected and treated like a lady.

Thirdly, never try to read a woman’s mind.

Please, ladies do not unlike my article for this statement. I am simply telling the men folk to always ask for permission and never assume. I believe it takes time to get to this level of intimacy where you can know what a woman is thinking (and again that is another article for another time). But it has been my experience when we try to read your women’s minds, we are wrong most of the time. I have a theorem I have taught my sons, If you laugh when a woman laughs, and cry when a woman cries, you will be right 50% of the time. You never want to assume with a woman because this leads to misunderstandings. We all know what happens when we ASSUME.

Finally, talk before touch.

I will say this again on purpose. Always ask for permission to touch a woman. Body language does come into play here. But always be on the safe side. Some women may challenge me on this and call this unromantic. But what’s more unromantic and awkward trying to kiss you or hold you and YOU don’t want to be held or to be kissed. Now, the man is really feeling some type of way because he thought he saw a gleam in your eye and it was just you needed moisturizer for your contacts. Can anyone say, Awkward! Guys, if you think she is feeling you, have a conversation. I promise you this will save you a great deal of pain and embarrassment.

I may have rambled a bit, but ladies, please accept my apology for Mr. Donald Trump. As we say here in the south, Bless his heart.
