For those of my friends who voted for and/or support Donald Trump as our President-elect:
I want you to know that I continue to hold you in the highest regard. I believe that you sincerely expect him to be a contribution, as the leader of our nation. I believe that your vote for him, and your support of him, are given because you wish and believe that he will do wonderful things for the citizens of this country and that he will be a great president.
I do not see in him what you see in him and I do now—and will continue to—reveal what I DO see in him, here, on Facebook, and in conversation.
I do now and will continue to take whatever actions I am able to take to prevent U.S. Citizens from being harmed by any politician, on either side of the aisle.
I am proud that I have not felt the need to “unfriend” those I know who support Trump. There have been one or two individuals who I chose to “unfriend” due to truly mean-spirited remarks they chose to aim directly at me. For those who are still my friends, I cherish you, and as long as we can remain respectful and friendly toward one another, I am happy to call you friend, whether we agree or not.
Finally, I wish to point out that I absolutely believe that the vast majority of us desire the same outcomes, no matter who we voted for, we wish:
- For a fair and just court system
- For a well-balanced federal, state and local budgets
- For an end to political corruption
- For opportunities—for ourselves and our children and grandchildren—to be productive and to be rewarded for our contributions
- For ourselves and those around us to be well-educated and contributing members of society
- For law enforcement to keep ALL of us safe and to be safe, themselves.
No matter how the “Powers that Be” try to divide us, I think it is important to acknowledge OFTEN that we are all truly working for the same things. ONE NATION. ONE TEAM.

Raven. I’m going to suggest, merely suggest, that one will read Glen Beck’s book “Liars” having said that, and knowing you’ll think beck is an arch conservative, because of his affiliation via Fox news. However. Beck was also a big trump detractor. So having said this, when one takes the time to understand history. And of how history repeats itself. I think you’ll understand a bit more of my point. I’m not trying to persuade. Really. I am however trying to provide the information and the trail of where we got to where we are today. It’s truly a mess. I… Read more »
Absolutely agree with you raven. And I voted for trump because I felt the last 8 years have been led with disingenuous and even corrupt behavior. That the DNC was shown to be so thoroughly corrupted, hence the washing away of Wasserman as well as Belize, by whomever source I felt was a great contribution to helping us clean up our act. I’m sincerely frightened by a far left activist control and I do believe this is where it was headed. Progressive thought, born from late 1800s Hegelian and Marxist economic and political thought, compounded by probably the worst president,… Read more »
Thank you for your agreement. I personally believe that there is no true “deep divide” among us citizens. I think that we are being led by the nose, to believe we have a deep division. Divided peoples are so much easier to conquer. And while I don’t know a whole lot about Woodrow Wilson’s term as POTUS, I do know another progressive, social democrat who performed so beautifully as President, that the nation had to pass legislation creating term limits to keep him from being elected to a third and maybe fourth term. FDR had the right ideas for our… Read more »
Thanks for your response. It’s rare on this site that the author engages. Actually FDR wasn’t the progressive socialist he’s made out to be. He was deeply conservative, yet was one of the most politically savvy people ever. He talked a big game, but more importantly got people to believe in him as a leader. That was his strength. The WPA and the cc were not really successful. Although it got people off the blocks standing around. That would have caused more trouble. What he really wanted was to get us into ww2 as that would unite the people and… Read more »
Now there’s a reasonably enlightened contribution to the political dialogue. Good on ya!
