It’s hard to capture
the words
that parachute from the collective unconscious
bursting like daffodils
in tantalizing mental images
that singe one
and soothe another
The meaning is in there
somewhere
The best wisdom always hides
The best truth
always emerges
from the sharpest pain
It has to be that way
Shifting words
are imperfect signs
for what lies underneath
The flickering of your eyelid tells me more than
the carefully planted barbs
hooked messages that belie
true meaning
and true feeling
Truth
is a sword
so sharp
that the air decides to pierce itself
