Black communities need equitable climate solutions and alternatives that center our concerns and protect Black lives. On November 8th, we need you to vote for a Black climate agenda.

Climate change threatens our physical and mental health, air quality, water access, food systems, and shelter, and is destroying the land that feeds our communities. While the climate crisis is now, and it impacts us all, it affects some of us much more than others.
Extreme weather events directly impact Black communities the most. In Jackson, Mississippi, decades of racist disinvestment and negligence in Black communities led to environmental catastrophes like the Jackson water infrastructure crisis, which has left 150,000 people without clean drinking water. Although Congress passed legislation authorizing billions of dollars for water infrastructure upgrades, none of these investments have reached vulnerable communities.
We need quality infrastructure, equitable distribution of resources to Black communities, and an end to the environmentally racist and unjust practices that prioritize private access during emergencies—which denies Black communities decision-making power and agency. All of this must be connected to a climate mandate that puts the power in the hands of the people.
