If you don’t believe in yourself… Maybe someone else will believe, but it would be like wishing for the tree on the other side of the fence to grow; only you can tend to your own garden.
If you don’t believe in yourself, you’ll probably be surrounded by a multitude of people or even negative energies that will confront you until you lose yourself, until you agonize to the point of no longer having the strength to believe that dreams can come true. When Christ was on Earth to fulfill His mission, He said that the struggle was not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and evil powers. Regardless of your religion or lack thereof, it’s possible to understand that beyond what we see, there is something that guides our steps, unseen.
We can die while still alive. I’ve faced times when I thought I would plunge into an abyss with no return, but there was a beam of light in my soul that always led me to rethink, reflect, and desire to live. There are so many formulas in the world, so many lessons on what to do or not to do, but your heart is unique. Your intuition exists, just as the principalities and powers of evil exist, but believe me, they can never, ever prevent what is done with the soul, with the heart, what is done for building up, not for destruction. Evil cannot nullify good or stop light from shining.
But you need to believe, believe in yourself. You can’t think that time (so ephemeral) has the power to decide over your dreams and your desires for achievements. You can’t think that you can’t do it anymore and that trying now would be useless. It is always possible. Fulfill your mission in the world. Do what you’ve always wanted to do but let slip by because you somehow listened more to the orchestra of bad omens. Don’t be afraid to do what you feel; don’t fear what others might think or say, just do it! Life will somehow reshape you; there will always be a time when your nearly depleted strength will renew.
Don’t stifle your shout, your cry, your gift, your motto… just because you’re in a world that doesn’t understand you. Maybe your existence isn’t for your people; maybe you need to go to China, Bulgaria, or say something important that can make a difference in someone’s life in Kazakhstan.
Chase your dreams. Sometimes you need to let the wild animal guide you; you need to let the fire burn completely, perhaps something needs to die for there to be rebirth.
All you need is to believe in yourself, not abandon yourself even if society has done so. You need to keep clamoring for your dreams, clamoring for your own life, and this clamor is often done in silence or even amidst tears and sobs. If you don’t believe in yourself, it won’t matter much if someone else does, remember? Only you can tend to your own garden. Don’t let death take you while you’re still alive, don’t let time make you believe there’s no more time. There is always time for what is born from the heart, for what is rooted in the soul and survives even in the agony of death.
