For those curious how animation techniques have changed over the years, here is an inside look.
Glen Keane grew up watching his father illustrate cartoons. What started as a childhood dream became a career for Glen, who went on to work as an animator at Disney for almost four decades.
Most people will recognize the iconic characters he illustrated, such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. And although he has personally brought so many amazing character to life, there was still something he always felt was missing. He wanted to be able to step into the story and stand next to the characters he was animating.
With the advancement of technology, Glen was able to do just that. Check out this video of Glen Keane as he goes from traditional sketching to creating his 3-D characters through virtual reality.
