Another amazing tale gets told in ‘Monster in the Box’
I had a lot of fun reading Amelia Shadows and the New Head Ghost. It told a rather exciting tale that brought big changes to the life of a teenager. At first, they didn’t like it but soon they realized it was for the best and even helped them become a better person. As that book neared the end it became clear the life of this character was never going to be the same. When I first heard about Amelia Shadows and the Monster in the Box I couldn’t wait to read it. I was able to get a digital copy of this graphic novel and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for this graphic novel here:
When your father is a powerful dark magician, you end up with a lot of interesting and dangerous things around the house — souvenirs of his many magical exploits, trophies of his many battles, even a magical prisoner or two. But Amelia Shadows’s father isn’t just any powerful dark magician, he is the most powerful dark magician, in the whole world! So you know her house is filled with all sorts of stuff. Very dangerous stuff. Stuff she’s not supposed to mess with. Not that Amelia has ever been good at obeying rules. While poking around in one her father’s many trophy rooms, Amelia breaks the most important magic rule of all — when you find a mysterious box making strange noises at you, under no circumstances should you open it! Now there’s an incredibly dangerous and ferocious creature on the loose in the Shadows’s house and Amelia had better find a way to get it back into its box before the head ghost Hans finds out, or even worse, her dad gets home!
I had a wonderful time reading this graphic novel. While Amelia is doing some chores, she finds a box that is making odd noises. She decides to open it and instantly regrets it. Turns out there was a dangerous small creature in there, and capturing it proved to be a real challenge. To accomplish this task, she is definitely going to need some help. As this graphic novel comes to a close the creature is captured and things in this house appear to have returned to normal.
Amelia Shadows and the Monster in the Box is available now. You can order this graphic novel on Barnes and Noble and at Bookshop.
