‘Only the Brave’ A surprisingly well made movie
There are a lot of movies that come out each year based on true events. It has been a while since I have seen a film like Only the Brave though. It has a great cast and tells a pretty impressive story. I was able to see this film early and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Only the Brave here:
Based on the true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, this movie tells the heroic story of one unit of local firefighters that through hope, determination, sacrifice, and the drive to protect families, communities, and our country become one of the most elite firefighting teams in the nation. As most of us run from danger, they run toward it – they watch over our lives, our homes, everything we hold dear, as they forge a unique brotherhood that comes into focus with one fateful fire.
Only the Brave gets 7/10. Miles Teller gives one of his best performances in years, and his character goes through an amazing transformation. Josh Brolin does a great job playing the fire chief and leading his team through some nasty fires. There is a good balance of comedy, action and drama that together make a pretty good movie. My only issue is that although this story needed to be told, I wonder if it could have been presented in a different way. The ending actually surprised me, I didn’t see it coming at all. I can’t say this film will be for everyone, but most people will really like it. To learn more about Only the Brave click on this website.
