About Dawn Elyse Warden
So ABOUT ME... I am currently healing (well, and reeling) from Maritus Interruptus, due to my husband of 20 months "opting out" of family life at the end of March '14. Things have been rough, but always grateful for a pen and paper, and uh, a keyboard. On a professional note, my background combines a love of food, words and kids (I have 5, ages 15-24, one that is developmentally disabled and an absolute angel). I've been a caterer, a children's librarian and book reviewer; a copywriter, a Sunday School teacher, a cooking instructor, a school fundraiser event chair, and editor/food critic for a regional lifestyles magazine. I did a brief stint as Development Director for Philadelphia-based nonprofit, Mighty Writers (.org), and before that my title was co-founder and consultant at "the warden ettinger group" (visit wardenettingergroup.com). Off-duty, I volunteer as an assistant teacher and mentor at Mighty Writers, blog here and a few other places around the web, and am a member of several female-forward organizations, including Les Dames d’Escoffier, Femfessionals, A Band of Women, Philly Social Media Moms, Mom Bloggers for Social Good and Bloggy Moms. When not writing, tweeting, posting or pitching, you'll find me in the kitchen feeding my culinary passion, something I enjoy almost as much as playing with words.
